- The regular clay stuck to the mold.
- The mold was hard and not flexible, unlike many mold products.
- It was hard to take the clay off of the mold (The clay was stuck in the little grooves of the waffle texture.
*For those of you wondering, I made the mold by taking scrap clay and pressing it against the window screen, which had little square holes.
I guess I now need to buy the regular mold putty, or any good mold brand because they should be flexible, which makes it easier to take the clay off. Also, you wouldn't need to bake the mold. You just need to let the mold sit for about 20-30 minutes depending on the type, as I have seen in videos on YouTube.
Therefore, I recommend making molds out of clay specially made for mold-making. Do not use scrap clay, unless the mold you are making does not have tiny grooves where the clay can get stuck, or the mold does not over-bake.
A mold that I have heard of which is very good is Amazing Mold Putty:
You can get this mold (two parts included together) and Michael's, Hobby Lobby, or your local crafts store. Jo-Ann's has mold putty, but not this brand. Aaronbrothers does NOT carry polymer clay, glaze, or mold putty.
Thanks!
